Handover, elections and awards day for societies

Society members are being invited to attend a handover and Information day for both outgoing and incoming society committees, as well as the societies executive elections, on Sunday (8 June).

The handover and information session will take place between 10am and 1pm in Fulton House Refectory.

“The day will consist of the elections, handover exercises and planning for next year, along with myself and Charlie (Ajomale) giving your new committees all the information they need regarding Freshers’ Fayre,” said societies and services officer Ceinwen Cloney (pictured).

“Attendance at this handover day is compulsory for both outgoing and incoming committee members, therefore you must have held your society’s AGM by this date. Please get in touch if this is problem.”

The societies executive committee will be elected via paper ballot on the handover day by the outgoing and incoming committees of all societies. The positions being voted on are:

  • Academic Representative
  • Charitable Representative
  • Faith and Cultural Representative
  • Hobbies and Interest Representative
  • Media Representative
  • Performing Arts Representative
  • Political and Campaigning Representative
  • Open Place Representative

“Please remember to fill in the re-registration form with you new committees details. If we don’t receive a form, your society will lapse at the end of the year!” added Ceinwen.

The Students’ Union Awards are also taking place at a garden party on 8th June in Abbey Meadow.

This is a time when hard working societies and individuals are rewarded for their efforts.
