The torch is visiting cities in a relay to stretch across Britain ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games in 60 days time.

Police presence was at an all time high, with motorcycle and convoys provided by the Metropolitan Police.

No incidents had been reported and the running of the torch appeared to run smoothly.

The crowd were enthusiastic and many thousands of people were expected to come out and welcome the torch, with many areas of Swansea on the route closed.

Earlier in the day, Matt Smith (who plays the latest Doctor Who) ran a stint in Cardiff Bay.
