Debutant Adam price delighted Swansea captain Tim Brienza with his man-of-the-match performance against Cardiff at Fairwood.
Price controlled the game from midfield and grabbed a goal of his own in an impressive Swansea display.
Brienza said: “Adam was amazing; he had a really good game.
“It was only his first match for us so to see him fit in so well is brilliant.
“I couldn’t have asked for anymore.”
Swansea responded well to last week’s 4-4 draw with Cardiff Metropolitan, and Brienza made sure he credited the whole team after the win.
He said: “The overall performance was really good, certainly a big improvement from last week.
“The defence was solid and the attacking pleased me as we took our chances.”
Price said of the team’s efforts: “It was a really good win, Cardiff are a good side so we’ve done well to beat them comfortably.”
The match itself started tight, with Cardiff forward Tom Horgan scooping the ball over the bar after a Swansea mistake in defence.
Swansea took the lead against the run of play when striker Rhys Flanagan rifled home a half-volley from Nick Evans’ knock-down.
Price linked up excellently with left-back Aidan Dauncy all game and eventually doubled the lead early in the second half with a low drive that beat the Cardiff goalkeeper at his near post.
Cardiff’s Horgan halved the deficit with a lob over Swansea goalkeeper Will Harlow, before Flanagan put the result beyond doubt with a well-taken strike into the roof of the net.
