Seconds edged out

A converted try and two penalties were not enough as Swansea lost their first Bucs Western Premier 1A Division match to Hartpury.

A passing move beyond the Hartpury 22 mark brought a penalty and offered Swansea the chance to score from in front of the posts.

Charlie Rowberry did the honours to to put the home team in front before intricate play saw Sam Fullalove claim the first try of the match.

Hartpury regained their rhythm however to reduce the arrears with two penalties.

Hartpury began the second period with intent and claimed a converted try.

Not to be outdone, Swansea quickly added another penalty from Rowberry’s boot and went close to the line again.

In a frantic finish to the match, Hartpury had another try disallowed for an apparent offside.

But another penalty from Hartpury sealed victory for the away side.
