GLOUCESTER 36-42 SWANSEA

An assured display away from home by Swansea at Gloucester not only secured third place but also sets up a final day of the season battle for second place of the Western League 2B against Bristol on 16th March. The 42-36 victory, their sixth of the season, means that they have now done the double over Gloucester after a comprehensive 58-17 success back in November, saw star performances from Goal Attack Rhiannon Bowers-James, and Goal Shooter Courtney Jenkins, who managed to keep their cool in spite of a partisan crowd, with their consistent shooting, proving too much for the home defence. Another positive to take from the game was the first team debut of Madi Taylor, who impressed her captain and her teammates with her effective changing of combinations, communication throughout the court, as well as her resolute defence, all proving to be a major thorn in the side for Gloucester. With only one match left now before Varsity, the home match against Bristol on Wednesday March 16, team spirit within the group could not be any better than it is right now, and the team is working really hard together. The build up to Varsity is something to enjoy, and we are ready to meet Bristol at home and win.
