LIS Bag Civil War Books

 

SWANSEA UNIVERSITY library is now the home of the largest collection of books on the American Civil War in the UK.

The collection was donated last summer by Alan Milne from Cardiff. He spent nearly 30 years of his life collecting 2,000 books on the Civil War, many of them primary sources including soldier diaries, naval war records and presidential papers.

 

SWANSEA UNIVERSITY library is now the home of the largest collection of books on the American Civil War in the UK.

“It’s unusual for a library in this country to have such a collection,” said Ian Glen, subject librarian for the Arts and Humanities team.

TODAY! Is love your Library

 

TODAY (14th February) the Library will officially launch the Assignment Survival Kit (ASK), an online tool to help you with time and task management when working on assignments. You will have the opportunity to try the tool for yourself in PC3 with Library staff on hand to answer queries. If you can’t make it on the 14th, check out ASK for yourself at ask.swan.ac.uk
