SIX NEW SABBs: James, Upton, Hedge, Britton, Jones, Basha all elected to power

LUKE JAMES swept to victory to become the new Student Union President for the 2011/2012 academic year last Thursday night.

James won the first round of voting by 485 votes over Sarah ‘Woody’ Woodvine with James exclaiming that upon learning of his election he felt “quite frankly absolutely ridiculous.”

Despite hearing good news throughout the campaign from students, James was still not complacent in his win.

SU ELECTION - EXIT POLLS / ETHOLIADAU UMPA - POLAU PINIWN

The exit polls were taken from 100 random students from across campus on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th March 2011.

One in four students were asked to reveal who they voted for. The result in no way indicates the final outcome but aims to give an indication of who is likely to win.

Rhiannon Hedge elected as Swansea's first female Education Officer

Rhiannon Hedge won the position of Education officer this evening after an extremely close result, disproving the exit polls which suggested, though by a small percentage, that Ceri Parker would claim the position.
