Sam Uche elected as societies and services officer for 2015/16

Sam Wonder Uche has been elected as the new societies and services officer for 2015/2016 in a by election that took place on March 26-27.

He beat 10 other candidates to win the role, with a majority total vote of 414. The post is one of five full-time elected positions in the students’ union.

The by election was forced by the resignation of Alys Chapman. She was elected in the full-time officer elections on 27 February but resigned the following day, citing personal reasons.

A total of 1242 students voted in the by-election.

The other candidates were: Mr ABDULLAH ALZAID, Mr CHRISTOPHER WALDEN, Miss GEORGIA TURNER, Miss HUYAM DALBANI, Miss JOCELYN ROBINSON, Mr ASHLEY WAKELING, Mr DEONTE JAM, Mr LAWRENCE ARCHER, Mr MICHAEL COMFORT, Mr NICHOLAS SHORT.
