WHEN pressing play on The Exiled’s debut EP ‘Break the Chains’, it is easy to assume that their music will fit the Heavy Metal cliché of being virtually inaudible before being drowned in a lengthy guitar solo.

WHEN pressing play on The Exiled’s debut EP ‘Break the Chains’, it is easy to assume that their music will fit the Heavy Metal cliché of being virtually inaudible before being drowned in a lengthy guitar solo. As a first studio effort for the Swansea-based band who formed in 2008, it’s important they get it right.

AS a third year, one of the things that often plays on my mind is the career I will undertake when I graduate.

THEY are cheaper in price, you can fit over a thousand books in your pocket and you have the ability to search and alter content. It’s truly no wonder that e-readers are booming in sales and in popularity.

WHAT impact will the e-revolution have on-campus? Ian Glen at Swansea University library says the library service is responding to a growing demand for eBooks.

“If a book is in heavy demand, it is really useful to buy it as an eBook to enable many more students to read it. Many books on reading lists cannot yet be purchased as eBooks, however,” said Ian.

AT university, reading can sometimes seem like a chore rather than a pleasure. But it can be relaxing, even therapeutic to read in the gaps between lectures.

AT university, reading can sometimes seem like a chore rather than a pleasure. But it can be relaxing, even therapeutic to read in the gaps between lectures.

My current reading obsession is losing myself in George R. R Martin’s epic ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series (upon which the spectacular new HBO show Game of Thrones is based). Each of the five books so far are well over 600 pages long.

With the release of the latest Thompson adaptation, Andy Williams offers a brief look at previous adaptations of the legendary Gonzo writer’s work.

Dieting is never easy, but as Jazz Dicker tells us in her diet diary, it can be really hard to just keep going through the temptation.

AFTER the first two weeks of dieting at university, it is already obvious which things we are going to find the most difficult.

First things first, we have all lost weight this week even if it is minimal for some of us. I have lost 2 lbs, and my flatmates Shane and Sian have lost 4 lbs and 5 lbs respectively.
