A Swansea University postgraduate student who illegally claimed over £250,000 was handed a two-year jail sentence for benefits fraud last week at Cardiff Crown Court.
Mohammed Al-Sulaiti, 35, moved to the UK on a student visa in 2005, bringing his wife and six children with him. When completing application documents for asylum, he told the authorities that he and his family had no money or investments.
