Discovery on Ice

The student volunteer organisation, Discovery, will be holding one of its annual fundraising events in front of the Waterfront Museum at 6pm on 10 December.

The event will start with a half an hour performance by students from the University Athletic Union on the temporary Ice rink situated next to the Waterfront Museum.

The ice rink, which has been laid down by Swansea City Council, will be in Swansea City Centre for seven weeks and designed to accompany traditional fairground attractions and children's entertainment. After the Ice Rink performance, Discovery will be conducting an auction of locally donated artwork in the Hospitality tent. When the auction has finished a raffle will be draw.

Discovery is a registered charity, run by students at Swansea University, whose aims include enriching the lives of people with disadvantages, challenging discrimination, supporting people with disabilities in Swansea and promoting voluntary activity in local areas. It has been operating for forty years and is currently operating a wide variety of local community projects. It is a medium through which students can become involved in voluntary community work in and around Swansea.
