Free public lectures – Theology talk

Swansea University's free public lecture series begins today with a talk by the world's first professor of Science and Religion, Professor John Brooke.

Professor Brooke, who trained in Natural Sciences at Fitzwilliam college Cambridge, is also Andreas Idreos Professor of Science and Religion at Oxford University and will speak on the theme of Darwin and God: Then and Now! At 7pm this evening in the Faraday lecture theatre.

Swansea University's Anglican Chaplain, The Reverend Nigel John organised the lecture, and said: "We are delighted to welcome such an esteemed person as Professor Brooke to give the inaugural public lecture in this year's series."

The University offers a comprehensive programme of free public lectures throughout the year, with the Theology Public Lectures attracting high-profile speakers from all faiths across the world, including the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey and the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor.
