Student Executive Elections

09th October 2006

The first sets of executive elections for this year are approaching and will take place on Tuesday 24 October.

Both Delegate and Executive positions are being elected, and include: 5 NUS U.K. delegates and 4 NUS Wales delegates. The 10 Executive positions that must be filled include: Adult Education Representative, Black Student Representative, Community Representative, Freshers' Representative, Library Representative, Mature student Officer, Part-Time Students Representative, Race Relations Officer, Societies Representative, and Undergraduate Representative.

Nominations open on Tuesday 10 October 2006 at 12 noon and close on Tuesday 17 October 2006 at 5.00 p.m. The publicity deadline is Wednesday 18 October 2006 at 4.00 p.m. There will be a meeting with the Returning Officers on Tuesday 17 October 2006 at 5.00 p.m. All candidates should make every effort to attend.

The elections will be held in Fulton House 24 October 2006 between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. The election results will be announced the same evening, and only students with a valid 2006- 2007 N.U.S card will be permitted to vote.

In terms of the election for the Mature Students Officer post, candidates must be Mature students - 21 or over on entry to university.
