Look out for...Frame 3-13

At the tender age of 19 this Swansea trio manage to combine elements of classic British indie rock with a twist of funk pop. Frame 3-13 bring a breath of fresh air to the current music scene - imagine the love child between Placebo and Jamiroquai and (weirdly) you're just about there. The songs are really likeable and it's clear that the band bring a great sense of youth into their melodies - which is obviously a result of all three members only being 19 years old.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Brimacombe and bass player Wayne Thomas actually learnt their instruments together and also began writing some songs together a few years ago. Drummer Kyle Voros then came into the band whilst meeting Jack in college and brought the extra element that Frame 3-13 needed to blend together as a band.

Being classically trained and after studying Music Technology, Kyle had a unique understanding of how he wanted the band to sound and this also led him to become Frame 3-13's producer. They now have their own unique style and Jack Brimacombe is quick to emphasise this point; "We just stick to being ourselves, it's a shame that there's such an emo revolution nowadays - seems to be a lack of originality about." Unfortunately he could be right, with prominent Welsh bands such as Lost Prophets changing their style with the wind it may be the case that this American based emo revolution is indeed dampening the originality of the Welsh music scene.

However there's a wealth of undiscovered talent, especially here in South Wales. Frame 3-13 are set to play their second gig at Cardiff Barfly and hopefully things will really begin to take off for them from there.
