A big let down

Cardiff: A student in Cardiff has taken to extreme measures in an effort to express his dissatisfaction with his letting agency. He has staged a protest outside the offices of the company, Keylet, brandishing placards and a t-shirt reading "I hate Keylet'.

Bag ladies

Sunderland: While travelling by train in Sunderland, a student had his wallet stolen from his bag while it was being unloaded. The police released information about the suspects: both were wearing knee length skirts, white shirts or blouses and carrying shoulder bags. Both have grey hair. The two women in their 70's later admitted the theft.

Drunken suspense

India: 40 students have been suspended after arriving for class drunk.

Taser

California: A UCLA student was stunned with a taser by a campus police officer because he refused to show his ID card. 23 year old Mostafa Tabatabainejad has now highered a high-profile civil rights lawyer to file a brutality case. Attorney Stephen Yagman said he plans to file a federal civil rights lawsuit accusing the UCLA police of "brutal excessive force," as well as false arrest.

NUS Rejected

Glasgow: On 16 November, over 4,400 students from Glasgow University rejected a proposal to join the National Union of Students.

Lesbian sues

Florida: A lesbian student is to sue ger school after it ruled that the gaystraight alliance she had founded was not allowed to meet on campus. Yasmin Gonzalez, 17, argued that the school violated the Equal Access Act.
