Top Five Christmas Stories

20th November 2006

1) The Night Before Christmas By Clement Clarke Moore: Adults will also enjoy this traditional children's story, making it a good family read. An all round Christmas classic.

2) If You're Missing Baby Jesus By Jean Gietzen: This simple tale reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. A family takes pity and reaches out in compassion to a desperate mother of five.

3) What Child Is This? By Caroline B. Cooney: This story reveals how Christmas wishes can come true with thoughtful giving, inspired by love.

4) The Legend of the Poinsetta By Tomie DePaola: The story of a Mexican child, who's only gift for Baby Jesus is a bouquet of weeds, which miraculously transform into beautiful flowers.

5) The Snowman By Raymond Briggs: Perhaps a book of very few words, but it wouldn't be Christmas without it. There is not a single person who hasn't heard of this true Raymond Briggs classic.
