"FANTASTIC" Year For Rag

31st August 2006

The University's RAG society, whose name stands for raising and giving, has had another successful year, making over £18,000 for local charities.

RAG has held several events throughout the year, including the Beer race, which raised ?15,000 alone and saw ?the Cavemen' completing the race in less than fifteen minutes. The Best Costume Award, of course, went to Nanna Moon. Other events, such as the Pinkathon, generated around ?650 for breast cancer.

"The Pinkathon was its usual chaos with many of the sabbaticals and exec dancing around in their underwear," said RAG President, Katy Frost.

Meanwhile, nine members of Swansea RAG also supported their fellow RAG counterparts in Bath, by collecting ?1000 during a firework display.

"RAG has had a great year, raising lots of money and having a fun time doing it," added Katy. "I am very excited to be handing over the reigns to such a great committee next year."
