Crackdown
Game Review: Crackdown
26th February 2007
Format: Xbox 360
Studio: Microsoft
Crackdown has been seen by some as yet another Xbox-360 rip off of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but this would certainly be selling the game short, as instead it provides an interest blend of a variety of games.
You are an agent employed to assist the normal police in cleaning up a city that has been ravaged by gangs. Empowered with a range of developing abilities which when fully developed will allow you to throw trucks and jump clean over buildings, you are tasked to kill a number of different crime lords.
The game also features an interesting multilayer option, allowing friends to drop into your single player game. This combined with the sandbox style game play, you will find yourself blasting your way though the missions quickly or simply whiling away the hours exploring the city.
If you think you are the kind of person who might like to dish out some radical law enforcement by blowing up enemies with explosives and taking out mob bosses, the crackdown will be right up your alley.
