Students visit Cadbury World

26th February 2007

On Sunday 18 February The Students' Union trip to Cadbury World and the Bull Ring Shopping Centre in Birmingham for international students left outside Fulton House at 8.30am.

The visit to Cadbury World, home of Britain's most iconic chocolate, was broadly regarded as a positive experience by international students. The students learnt about the history of Cadbury, including the origins and history of chocolate and Cadbury's early commitment to the welfare of their workers.

Kylie Bartelli, International Officer, said that, "It was a brilliant trip and the American students really seemed to enjoy it. One of the rooms we went through in the factory was a jungle. It was awesome.

"The students represented Swansea University well and it was really worth visiting." Laura Russi, an American student, said that the visit to Cadbury World as "a chance to return to childhood."

Students also had the opportunity to visit the city centre and the Bull Ring. After enjoying the day out at Cadbury World, the bus that was returning the students back to the univeristy suffered a flat tyre at a round 7.12pm.

The students were divided into two groups and continued the journey back to Swansea separately.
