Society award's night

This years Societies Awards are being held on Wednesday 16 May and as always promise to add the icing on the cake for the end of the year.

Many of Swansea's societies work tirelessly throughout the year to bring their members regular events, whether it is for charity or simply for a laugh.

This year there is a selection of awards up for grabs including; most consistent, best variety of events, most innovative, best publicity, best new society, most improved society, best social, best educational event, most supportive society, most efficient society, best cultural event, best society website, best cooperative link, best Society, The Ben Lockwood Award for Most Active Individual and of course there will be plenty of awards for Outstanding Achievement and Individual Contribution.

As you can see there really is something for everyone. We caught up with last years winners of best society, Xtreme Radio. Treasurer Matt Bond hopes that they might retain there title however, "RAG have been very strong this year, so who knows!" This year the best society award comes with prize money, as well as the traditional certificates. Take a look at the Waterfront website after the awards to find out who won what!

The awards will be taking place at the Marriott in Swansea from 7pm onwards; the evening will have a formal dress code with tickets costing £10. This includes a buffet and there will be selected drinks offers, the price also includes free entry into Time and Envy.
