Preview: Grindhouse

14th May 2007

In a nutshell, it's Tarantino and Sin City's Robert Rodriguez in a three and quarter hour powerhouse piece harking back to the 70s gritty, exploitation pics. Some have called it a selfindulgent love-in, but it's innovation of the highest order.

Fuck political correctness, you'll see gore beyond belief as Rodriguez's piece 'Planet Terror' tells a tale of zombie madness and a stripper with an M-16 for a leg...yeah, you heard.

Then QT's nostalgia-laden 'Death Proof' roars onto the screen, centred on Kurt Russell's psychotic stuntman with an indestructable car and a lust for lovelies like Rosario Dawson.

If that wasn't enough, bridging the gap are fake trailers from the likes of other pop culture icons such as Rob Zombie, Eli Roth and Edgar Wright.

Expect mad-capped themes all heavy on the kitsch and low on realism with allstar casts across the board. If it comes out, watch out.
