Fflam unsigned bands opportunity

If you are a member of a band here at Swansea University, you have the chance to feature amongst the main stage line-up of this year's Fflam festival. The first major rock festival to be held in Wales is providing a fantastic opportunity for local upcoming bands to strut their stuff in front of thousands of revellers.

A whole stage will be dedicated to showcasing the best of unsigned Welsh talent, including Welsh speaking artists. The short listing process will take shape in two ways: Straight Music in conjunction with Cardiff based TV company Boomerang Productions, who are responsible for the Bandit music TV programme on S4C that showcases the best of Welsh speaking artists, will shortlist Welsh speaking talent.

The line up for all other artists will be decided by Straight Music in conjunction with local promoters CMC who will be drawing up a short list of bands and performers from recorded material received. Following this, chosen bands will be invited to showcase their talents at a series of events to be held at the Sin City venue in Swansea.

Show cases will take place at the Sin City Club, Swansea on the following dates:

• 9 June
• 16 June
• 23 June

Final: 1 July, Sin City Club, Swansea

Three bands will be lucky enough to play the main stage whilst the remainder of bands from preliminary showcases will have the chance to appear on the Sin City Cymru stage.

Demos will only be accepted from bands based in Wales, and unfortunately demos will not be returned and not every entry will receive a reply.
