Success for Back in Black

Last night saw the success of Back in Black, the student union summer ball.

Student revellers were not put off by a dubious weather forecast, as they turned out in their thousands to enjoy hours of live music on the main stage.

Treated to performances from Viva Machine, Liberty X, Pendulum and The Automatic the event, staged on the university's Abbey Meadow, went off virtually without a hitch.

Students also enjoyed music in a second Live and Wired tent, along with entertainment in a casino and free fun fair - and of course a healthy amount of beer.

The ball is in it's third year in its renewed form, after being brought back by the Ents team for the summer of 2004.
