Ready, Steady, Go!
Polar Bear Run success!

On 31 January the Medics Society braved the cold of the North Atlantic to raise money for the Welsh Air Ambulance, West Wales Cancer Institute and SKIP (Students for Kids International Projects).
As you can see there was a large turn out and the scene of bumble bees, sailors, even a balloon covered fairy attracted a huge crowd of students and passers by. The event went off without a hitch and was filmed by Varsity for the post swim party and also Welsh television channel S4C.
On hand to help the event along was the Lifesaving Club and our very own student president Owen Morgan, although he had (fortunately) decided to leave his red Speedos at home and opted for a much warmer wetsuit.
The society have currently raised around £500, but they hope that by the time they have collected in all of the sponsorship money they would have reached between £1000 and £1500, which is a fantastic achievement, well done to all those who were involved in this event!
