New shop 'Niche' to open on campus

This month sees the launch of a new Student Union service, 'Niche'- 'A better deal all around', a new store on campus. Catering for both students and the local community, the shop will aim to source food and goods locally, as well providing a selection of exotic international cuisine.

By stocking specialist ingredients it is hoped that Niche will be able to help accommodate the needs of an increasingly multicultural city.

Staff will be able to provide information and advice on the many types of products. Those keen to expand their knowledge of exotic cuisine will also be able to pick up menu cards.

'Niche' will also be stocking local welsh products.

As environmental issues are becoming increasingly important, 'Niche' will not be using plastic bags, and instead will be encouraging people to re-use plastic bags or purchase a cotton shopper bag.

The store will be located at the Front of Fulton House (the main building), and will be more convenient for students wanting international foods than having to walk into Swansea.

Owen Morgan, President for the Students' Union commented that, "The shop will be great for international students and sell interesting new foods. The location is perfect."
