Windsurfers hit the waves

A few hardcore members saved the windsurfing club from disbanding this year. After establishing the club on the second day of the fresher fair and rushing to sort out everything in time, the windsurf club got straight into action. There was an introductory session for all the budding windsurfers on Saturday the 29th September where they began the obsession that is windsurfing.

A group of very keen to get wet members got out of bed and down to the beach for an early 9.30am session! With the help of Bay Watersports (a local company situated on Swansea Bay) and Andy Cook (the Windsurf Club Captain) the new members were given a two-hour lesson where they were taught the basics. Everyone was impressed at the progression they each made and how rewarding it feels when you get going.

"All in all it was a very enjoyable lesson. I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who came down, it was awesome," says Andy. There was also a breakfast BBQ on the beach to fill everyone's empty stomachs.
