A beached whale has been put down

Rescuers hoped a whale, thought to be a minke whale, would survive after being successfully released into the sea. Sadly it became beached between Criccieth and Pwllhelia in North Wales, a second time and rescuers felt they had to put down the young whale. Tony Woodley, the rescue groups director said. "Shoving it back into the sea without its mother would have been a death sentence."

£2000 Newport curry delivery

Rumours that the A list star Kanye West requested a take away curry from a Newport curry house, British Raj, have been quashed by the star's publicist Shaun Jackson.

Although the curry was packaged and dispatched by helicopter from Tredegar Park Golf Club, Jackson denies the ridiculously outlandish rumour, saying that West was not even in New York where the curry was delivered.

Murder conviction for accidental death

Robert John Lees, 36, from Anglesey hit his neighbour, Paul Walker, 48, with a metal bedstead. Lees eventually pleaded guilty to the crime and has been sentenced to prison indefinitely. Lees and Walker agreed to have a fight after Walker suspected Lees of reporting him to authorities for sharing his single person's flat. The fighting got out of hand and Walker died from his fatal injuries.

3am order for elderly man

Llandough Hospital in Bridgend ordered father of six Mohammed Khan suffering from chest pains and a bloody cough after a recent triple by-pass operation to go home. Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust said it was under severe pressure and it was "working hard" to tackle the problem. Khan was woken up at 3am to make room for an emergency patient. Khan who was clearly disgruntled was consoled by a mere "we're sorry" from hospital staff.

No charges follow manslaughter arrest

Two young boys, Fouryear-old Kyal Owen, and brother Konnor, three, died in a flat fire whilst in the care of their father, Michael Thomas, 32. The tragic death of the two boys happened last September in Llanfaethlu, Anglesey. Thomas is no longer facing charges after police said there was "insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction of criminal charges.
