There's only one thing more satisfying than tucking into a Verdi's ice cream on a blazing hot day, and that's tucking into an ice cream knowing you've earned it with a stonking great 35-mile bike ride that morning.
The Three Valleys Fun Cycle Ride organised by Swansea Bay Rotary Club takes riders from Swansea through Neath, Aberdulais and Pontardawe and back to Swansea again. Visit www.sx-bay.org for an entry form and get training - you only have until June 3 to be fit and ready.
There's a month to recover before the British Heart Foundation Bike Ride on the July 1, which covers 29 or 16 miles depending on what you let yourself in for, and you can enter by visiting www.bhf.org.uk, clicking 'Get Involved' and 'Find Your Event'.
For those who think the idea of donning lycra cycling shorts for a five hour ride is second only to sticking pins in your own eyes, the Gower Walking Festival is a more sedate and scenic affair. Running from the 2 to 15 June it's a great way of seeing those parts of the Gower that you might not find by yourself, and with 32 guided walks there's plenty of opportunities to join in. Visit www.mumblestic.co.uk to see a brochure.
For an evening jog along the sea front you can get involved with any one of three Swansea Bay 5k races. See www.swanseabay5k.com for race dates and times and get your best racing stripes on to be in with the chance of beating the track record and nabbing a £100 prize!
