INTERVENTION - Arcade Fire
Intervention was the first track to be leaked from the new, critically acclaimed Neon Bible album. But for some unknown reason, Arcade Fire have decided to wait until now to release it as a single.
This is an odd song, as the music sounds very much like a haunting church organ, yet the lyrics take the form of an anti-church rant. This is typified when Win Butler sings the line 'working for the church while my family dies'.
However, music-wise this is classic Arcade Fire. The lush backdrop of the organ with the usual ensemble of strings, drums and xylophone is as magical as ever.

ALL MY FRIENDS - LCD Soundsystem
The unrelenting piano beat gently hypnotises while the effortlessly calculated and intelligent lyrics help to conduct the electrifying melody through your already seduced nervous system. Before you've even been released from its magical punk funk spell you'll have played this 100 times over

MOTORCYCLE - Rumble Strips
Not enough songs about bikes really. Queen had one that was quite good. Sadly, this one isn't. Technically proficient but the lead singer's Justin Hawkins impression at the end is a needless addition to a befuddling cacophony of sound.
