Shaken and not Stirred

It was the end of an era. The most exciting, most fun, and most fantastic place to spend your Monday night has gone. Time and Envy nightclub closed it's doors to students for the final time on Wednesday 10th October to make way for a super club, Oceana.

Time and Envy made sure that they said farewell in style. As many of you are aware, the theme for the grand finale was James Bond, Casino Royale which combined the formal attire for a farewell party with the fun of fancy dress, the perfect combination. The night was packed with something for everyone to enjoy. The music was at its best, playing the usual dance and chart hits while Envy hosted a smoother R'n'B night. No matter which room you were in, a good time was always guaranteed.

The James Bond night also included fantastic drink offers, as always. Orange House which has also closed it's doors for the last time were serving Vodka Martinis of the shaken and not stirred variety, whilst Time had Poker and Black Jack tables to entertain. So whether Roulette, Poker or Black Jack was your thing, there was something to for everyone.

Time and Envy have endeavored to bring students the cheapest drinks, the loudest music and the best artists they could wish for. The nightclub has been host to a variety of events over the years, with much dedication and effort spent on students to ensure that we get the most out of our university experience.

Events have included Christmas Balls, The Beer Race, unforgettable themed nights and Detention without fail every Monday night. These events have also given us the privilege of seeing many famous faces performing up close. Celebrities who have walked through the doors of Time have included Lemar, Chesney Hawkes and even the VengaBoys.

But fear not! The memories of Time and Envy will not be forgotten by the students of Swansea, and they will live on, in the form of Detention. Detention is still here, but in a different form. For those of you who like your chart and dance, your Detention will be held in Jumpin' Jacks, and will maintain the same theme as Time. On the other hand, those of you who are Envy or R'n'B lovers, your Detention will now be held in Sin City. In room 1 of Sin City you will find the well known Face Off night, here you will find your metal and Indie music. Room 2 of Sin City will give host to Leon and his R n B set, a new room featured in Detention this year, but its popularity has grown tremendously quick and is now a brand new permanent fixture.

But what if I want to go to all three I hear you say. No Problem! Detention has one entry fee that can be paid at Jacks or Sin City. This entry fee gives you a wrist band which will allow you entrance in either of the clubs. Yes you have to walk if you want to change, but it's the perfect opportunity to work off that pint you just had, so no complaints.

Yes, the student night goes on, but will it be the same? The true lovers of Time and Envy will now put their faith in Jacks and Sin City to try and live up to Time and Envy's superb performance as student entertainment. Fortunately we should only have to wait six months before the brand new super club Oceana opens, and we at the Waterfront can't wait to go and try it out!
