Kitesurf club to attend Aussie Kiss

The Swansea University kite surfing club was founded two years ago and has since gone from strength to strength, with the club constantly attracting new members of all abilities.

The club is associated with the SKA, Student Kite Surfing Association, an organization that involves all university kite clubs.

The club is planning to attend Aussie Kiss 6 from October 26-28 with members staying at Bude Holiday Park in Cornwall. The Club will be heading to Westward Ho Beach, Devon for kite surfing tuition and competitions.

Aussie Kiss 6 is set to be the biggest kite surfing event of the year, with it being a welcome back to all the old faces and a friendly introduction to our world for those new to it. It will be a weekend crammed with everything from kite surfing tuition to fancy dress!

This year, the SKA are trying to place a large emphasis on having fun with competition. Sponsors Flexifoil will be on site with their kites and boards for everyone to demo and test out.

Kiteworld magazine will also be showing up, face-snapping away and giving out some goodies, with all students attending receiving a bag full of stash upon registration.

The fun starts on the evening of Friday 26, with three live bands to blow you away while you get to know all the other Kite surfers from around the country.

The kite surfers will be getting out their cowboy hats and spurs, with this years fancy dress theme being 'Wild Wild West.' But don't let that put you off too much!

Swansea Kiteaholics attended last year and it was a great chance for new and old members to get involved and also for everyone to get to know each other a bit better.

The club also plans to attend Tarifa, in South West Spain, during the Easter Holidays, for 10 fun-filled windy days of sun, kiting and even more fancy dress.

For the year ahead, the club committee is putting a real emphasis on getting everyone more involved, and are planning to make it a great year for the newly affiliated club, with lots more kiting and a lot more nights out.

The President, James, and the Treasurer Mike, are also newly qualified instructors, which should hopefully entice more people to join up. All tutiton is by experienced teachers.

The club meets every Wednesday (weather permitting!) at Swansea Bay for kiting sessions, with all abilities welcome.
