Alpine Butterfly
Amy's magic quest
26th February 2007
Alpine Butterfly are truly one of the great undiscovered talents in South Wales. Their songs glide effortlessly through sublime vocals and perfect harmonies, with a real air of professionalism about their music - despite being unsigned. Lead vocalist David Dale spoke to Front about the struggle to get signed to a record label, "We're just going to keep playing and writing and trying to travel as far afield as possible to try and get noticed! It's difficult 'cos that along with sending out demos to record companies is just about all you - and every other unsigned band - can do".
The hard work seems to have paid off. They recently had success on an American music site, earning themselves 'band of the day'. George Martin is a director of the company is charge of this site, so it seems as if big things are destined for this beautifully melodic band.
The band are collectively from Swansea and Port Talbot and often play venues across Swansea such as The Office and the Uplands Tavern, where they're also playing over the next couple of months. For their gig listings and a listen to some songs take a look at their myspace page. For a more in depth bio about the members check out www.alpinebutterfly.co.uk.
