Lock up your lady and throw away the key!

Last February's Valentines Ball was a new event for the loved-up occasion and as it's coming back this year. Held in Time and Envy, it was a wellattended and successful night.

Even Welsh snooker player Matthew Stephens turned up - but just to join in the fun rather than making a guest appearance, and who can blame him. It is the probably the fastest way possible to meet a new potential squeeze!

For those who aren't aware of the concept of a Lock and Key Party, every female has a lock while every male has a key. Your aim for the night is basically to find out whose key fits your lock or vice versa! The girls had their mini locks and the guys were given mini keys at the door, both of which were given on red ribbons so it could be worn as a necklace.

The concept of a key fitting into a lock is an obvious sexual pun which paved the way for the guys to work some very cheesy chat up lines on their chosen ladies. Most of them went along the lines of the obvious 'Let me unlock you' or 'I'll fit into you nicely' for example!

Each guy had 3 keys on their ribbon to give them more chance to open a lock. Some of these attempts were successful and others were not but at the end of the day, it became a good excuse to chat to everyone!

This is an excellent chance for the singles amongst you to have the perfect excuse to flirt and possibly attempt to chat up most of the girls in the club - maybe without getting a slap! Even if you don't end up with the man or woman of your dreams, it's a good way of meeting lots of new people and to have fun.

A lock and key party serves as an ice breaker and even if you're not looking for commitment, it can just be a game of trying to find out who has the key to open your lock rather than the key to your heart!
