Championship Manager 2007
Game Review: Championship Manager 2007
26th February 2007
Format: PS2, PC-CD, PSP Xbox 360
Studio: Eidos
Fresh on the heels (or perhaps not) of now-rival Football Manager 2007, Eidos now come to release the latest instalment in their long-running series of football management sims. The problem that has faced Eidos since Sports Interactive left to work with Sega is that the Championship Manager brand is no longer the trend-setter. What must hurt more for Eidos is that it's their former bed-fellows that have stormed ahead.
That said, 2007 is an improvement on previous releases, and to be honest, it had to be. Don't think, however, that there is a massive gap between CM 2007 and FM 2007, because it's only the level of detail that nudges FM ahead in the stakes. Unlike its rival, CM 2007 is also available on the PS2 and PSP, which gives it extra kudos.
Ultimately, whilst it may not be top of the league anymore, it does run a close second, and miles ahead of the rest of the pack.
