Car Review: Toyota Yaris

29th January 2007

This is the older model of Yaris, demonstrating two strange driver interfaces, an inbuilt nav system –read what speed your doing, and the HUD, set in the centre dash as a reflected digital read out.

All in all, it feels like driving a slightly nippier futuristic golf cart; no passengers, no luggage and no head wind. The model is blessed with powered steering, meaning less effort. It took more effort to turn my wheeled egg away from the driveway at age two.

This is a good little comfortable car, with most creature comforts. It also had the best fuel consumptions on the market in 2005, which has to be its second best feature, its first being the CD player controls mounted on the wheel.
