The jury in the trial of a 49-year-old American accused of murdering a Welsh tourist in New Jersey in 2007 has cleared him of the charge.
Robert Davies admitted stabbing Lavern Ritch from Penarth, but claimed it was in self-defence.
Davies was found guilty of reckless manslaughter, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
He was cleared of murder and aggravated manslaughter charges.
The court heard that Davies wrongly believed Mr. Ritch to be a member of a gang.
