Swansea's best beer gardens

Top of the list here must surely be The Pub on the Pond, as it's a stones throw away from uni, meaning you can nip there for a sneaky half in between lectures (best not to arrive at lectures unable to see straight though, eh?). You get to watch people floating aimlessly across the 'pond' in swan shaped pedaloes as you sit outside on one of the many benches and tuck into the cheap food.

Another great place to sit in the sun, enjoy the view across Swansea Bay and watch the world go by is The West Cross Inn, on the way to the Mumbles. It boasts a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, despite just a low wall seperating the garden from the cycle path that runs along the beach. If you decide to make a night of it, the Inn provides the perfect starting point for the Mumbles mile.

The Rhyddings in Brynmill and the Uplands Tavern also has patio areas where you can enjoy your pint in the open air. If you're heading to town, The Cross Key's pub, just off Wind Street, has a large outdoor area with heaters, and gets very busy in the summer months.
