Emotional welfare result
- 16 Mar 2007 04:15
When the final result of the Welfare post was announced several supporters of Liz Elsey, who had the third largest number of votes, burst out of DV8 in tears. Sheryl 'Shem' Earnshaw and her supporters were also saddened when she came a close second.
The election contest had been a close fought and highly emotional affair, with many tired students remaining in DV8 left tearful and disppointed by the result.
Gilly Rollason's complete absence from any campaigning and hustings had been notedthis week, but she still secured votes as part of the RESPECT slate.
Perhaps a clue to Nick Morgan's success was his slate, NOW '07.
He will take over from Miles Goodman, the current Welfare officer. The next result to be announced will be Treasurer. Another close match is anticipated.
