The Streets to headline Summer Ball

 

After weeks of suspense the Summer Ball line-up has today been announced by Swansea Student Events.

The line-up includes big names such as Kate Nash, Chase and Status and London rap project lead by Mike Skinner, The Streets take to the stage at Abbey Meadow on the 15th June.

Swansea Student Events Assistant  Simmo Simmons told the Waterfront, “We really looked at the type of music students are into and tried to diversify and incorporate everyone’s tastes as much as possible.”

PM in Swansea to Boost Welsh Tories

UK Prime Minister David Cameron was in Swansea on April 1 to boost the Welsh Conservatives’ campaign ahead of the Welsh Assembly election on May 5.

Mr. Cameron, addressing party members at the Guildhall, spoke of a difficult year financially, as well as recent British involvement in the Libyan conflict. Addressing funding cuts and the railway electrification from London to South Wales were high on the Welsh agenda.

Literature: The Pregnant Widow by Martin Amis

After all the hype, the keen anticipation, the slagging off matches in the press, furore over the somewhat cynically attention grabbing pre-release press statements, questionable interview sound bites, the Booker Prize long list omission, middling reviews and the embattled author planning to move to New York, Martin Amis’s twelfth novel, The Pregnant Widow, finally makes it into paperback re-printing.

These lessons really are perfect for anyone looking for something different to do in the evenings whilst at the same time, learning crucial culinary skills. The lessons at the diner have been so successful that renowned chef Chris Keenan has already agreed to do a total of eight lessons, as opposed to the original two.

IT WAS in 2004 that Chelsea manager and self-proclaimed ‘Special one’, Jose Mourinho, appointed Brendan Rodgers as youth team coach for the West London side. Fast forward six years and the Northern Irishman is now in charge of Swansea City brandishing his own brand of attractive football that has resulted in much praise, most notably from Cardiff City’s Seyi Olofinjana, dubbing the Swans ‘the Chelsea of the Championship’.
