Interview: Matt Hill - Welfare Candidate
- 15 Mar 2007 21:15
Okay, so we've just been down to DV8 to try catch up with the Welfare candidates as they anxiously await the results, which won't be for another few hours yet. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, the drink is flowing, there are a few rather sleepy looking faces amongst each campaign team but an air of excitement still resonates throughout the room.
First up, we cornered Matt Hill.
Matt says he's not feeling too tired at the moment, he's just waiting around, chilling out and not really worrying about everything. I think the drink flowing through his system may have something to do with his laid-back attitude but who can blame him? Like all the campaign team, he's been working extremely hard to secure votes over the past few days. He reckons the campaign went alright but it's hard to be organised. He's handed out a lot of leaflets, got his face out there, chatted to lots of people, and now he's just hoping he's done okay. To pass the time, he's amusing himself drinking and eating, he's eager to just have a good night and relax now right through to the end.
If Matt doesn't win, he doesn't mind who does. He says everyone is really nice and friendly and it would be hard to choose.
