Comedy: Itchy What?
By Suzanne Beynon - Culture Editor
EVERY other Wednesday a group of Swansea comedians collect together to present the Itchy Beaver Comedy Club. The night takes place at Talk of the Town, a 300 capacity cabaret style bar, located on High Street.
This Wednesday they see one of Never Mind the Buzzcocks’s stars Paul Foot visit Swansea and share the stage with some of Swansea’s own up and coming comedians.
Paul Foot is a British comedian, and Oxford Graduate, who is characterised by his rants, musings and apparent adversity to pop culture. Foot states of himself on his website, www.paulfoot.tv, ‘I am Paul Foot. I do not have Fans. I have connoisseurs’. There lies his command of a significant cult following, labelled the Guild of Paul Foot Connoisseurs.
Foot’s TV appearances range from Never Mind the Buzzcocks toRob Brydon’s Annually Retentive to Come Dine With Me. Attitude Magazine has described him as ‘An absolute comic genius. He’s going to be a superstar’, the London Standard saying he is ‘the missing link between Ross Noble and Frankie Howard.’
On Wedneday Foot will be supported by Geraint Thomas, Ignacio Lopez, Luke Montague and Miles Lloyd and the evening will be hosted by Jahonnay Rickwood.
So, if you are part of or interested in becoming part of the Guild of Connoisseur’s, or if you are just a fan of comedy, this is not one to miss!
The show starts at 8pm and tickets are £4. For more information, check out the facebook group: The Itchy Beaver Comedy Club@Talk of the Town.
