MEET Me in St. Louis, made in 1944, is one of the classic musicals, filmed in Technicolor, which marked the beginning of a golden age in musicals for MGM. It is set in St. Louis, 1903, just before the World’s Fair commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase. It stars Judy Garland, in her second great success after The Wizard of Oz (1939), as one of four daughters living in St. Louis.
